Location: Fable Book Café
Suspect: Kevin – The Cheese Monster
Status: In Detective Custody
Incident Summary
Cat Crimes HQ has received confirmation that suspect Kevin – The Cheese Monster has officially been handed over by the owner of Fable Book Café to a newly appointed field detective.
The detective accepted responsibility for Kevin's case with great enthusiasm and has confirmed that the investigation will continue. Rather than keeping Kevin permanently, the detective intends to continue the long-standing Cat Crimes tradition of passing him on so that more detectives can assist with the investigation.
Investigator Notes
Kevin remains one of Cat Crimes HQ's most notorious repeat offenders. Although technically "in custody", detectives report that he appears perfectly content with the arrangement and has already begun charming his latest investigator.
Experience suggests Kevin rarely stays with one detective for long. Once his latest assignment is complete, he is expected to quietly disappear and continue spreading chaos elsewhere.
Current Status
Kevin is currently travelling with his latest detective while remaining under active investigation. Detectives are encouraged to remain vigilant as the suspect has a well-documented history of escaping supervision without warning.
Kevin successfully transferred to a new field detective.
Investigation continuing.
Risk of escape remains HIGH.

🚨 Breaking News From Cat Crimes HQ
After weeks of uncertainty, missing cheese and unanswered questions, Cat Crimes HQ can finally confirm a major breakthrough.
KEVIN HAS BEEN FOUND!
On 5 September 2026, Detective Meg successfully identified the notorious cheese criminal at Fable Book Café in St Annes.
This is the first confirmed sighting since Kevin's disappearance following his escape during transport on 14 July.
The discovery comes following HQ's urgent radio transmission on 26 July, requesting assistance from field detectives.
Detective Meg has delivered.
And after almost two months of searching, Cat Crimes HQ can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Although somebody should probably check the cheese supplies first.
🧀 The Return of the Cheese Monster
Kevin first came to the attention of Cat Crimes HQ following a string of suspicious cheese-related incidents across the Fylde Coast.
Despite being taken into detective custody in July, the suspect managed to escape during transport.
Since then, intelligence officers have received numerous reports of disappearing cheese, but no confirmed sightings.
Until now.
The notorious fugitive has apparently returned to familiar territory.
Why Kevin chose to resurface at Fable Book Café remains unclear.
Was he seeking shelter?
Hoping to blend in with innocent café customers?
Or had he simply heard rumours of an exceptionally good cheese toastie?
Investigators strongly suspect the cheese toastie theory.
🕵️ Detective Meg Answers the Call
Fortunately, Kevin's attempts to remain unnoticed were unsuccessful.
Detective Meg discovered the wanted feline and immediately reported the sighting to Cat Crimes HQ.
The discovery reportedly made the detective smile.
An understandable reaction.
After all, there's something rather amusing about a notorious criminal called Kevin being brought to justice in a book café.
HQ commends Detective Meg for her excellent investigative work.
However, the investigation has encountered one rather unexpected complication.
⚖️ A Custody Dilemma
When asked whether Kevin would be kept in custody or released back into circulation, Detective Meg gave a rather unexpected response.
Detective Meg's official statement:
"Not sure yet."
This has caused considerable confusion within Cat Crimes HQ.
After weeks of searching for the escaped cheese criminal, investigators are now unsure whether Kevin is about to be released back onto the streets.
The detective is entitled to make her own decision.
Kevin, meanwhile, is believed to be taking full advantage of the uncertainty.
Sources suggest he has requested legal representation, a comfortable chair and a substantial quantity of cheddar.
His requests are under consideration.
The cheddar has been refused.
📚 An Investigator With Excellent Taste
Cat Crimes HQ is also pleased to report that Detective Meg has taken a keen interest in the wider criminal investigations.
From suspect profiles and Criminal Diaries to witness statements, CCTV reports, Boss Cats and the Evidence Locker, very little appears to have escaped this detective's attention.
An impressive level of commitment.
HQ also notes that the discovery was described as funny.
We are delighted that the investigation brought a smile.
Kevin, however, is advised not to mistake this for leniency.
🔎 What Happens Next?
With Kevin's location finally confirmed, Cat Crimes HQ must now await Detective Meg's decision regarding the recovered evidence.
Will the notorious cheese thief remain safely in detective custody?
Or will Kevin be released once again, free to continue his dairy-related criminal activities?
At present, the answer remains unknown.
HQ has instructed all field detectives to remain vigilant.
Particularly those working anywhere within sniffing distance of cheddar.
