Location: St Annes Promenade
Suspect: Alan β The Seagull Chaser

Incident Summary
Cat Crimes HQ has reviewed recently obtained CCTV footage confirming that Alan β The Seagull Chaser has returned to the streets of St Annes.

The circumstances surrounding his return remain unknown.
CCTV Analysis
The footage shows Alan adopting his familiar low stalking position before slowly approaching a group of unsuspecting seagulls.
Unfortunately for Alan, the birds appeared fully aware of his intentions several moments before he did.
The suspect then launched an ambitious pounce, successfully catching...
Moments later, Alan was seen retreating at speed while being enthusiastically pursued by several visibly unimpressed seagulls.
Investigator Notes
Investigators remain unsure whether Alan escaped detective custody, was deliberately released, or simply wandered away after becoming distracted by a pigeon.
Cat Crimes HQ has confirmed that Alan remains considerably more dangerous to his own dignity than to the local bird population.
The suspect has officially returned to At Large status.

The reporting detective chose not to place Alan into permanent custody and instead released him at a nearby campsite, allowing the investigation to continue.
Alan remains At Large and is now believed to be roaming the campsite while monitoring the local bird population.
Campers are advised to remain alert for suspicious rustling, unsuccessful pouncing and unusually confident seagulls.
RADIO REPORT #RR-001
Transmission Summary
Cat Crimes HQ received a series of urgent radio reports from detectives travelling between the campsite and St Annes.
Several reporting units claimed to have witnessed a large seagull carrying a small black-and-white cat through the air.
The cat was described as young, slight in build and loudly objecting to the method of transport.
The airborne suspect was subsequently identified as Alan β The Seagull Chaser.
Recorded Radio Transcript
HQ Assessment
The number of independent radio reports suggests that the incident was genuine and not the result of radio interference, mistaken identity or excessive caffeine.
Investigators believe Alan was carried from the campsite towards St Annes by one of the seagulls he had previously attempted to chase.
This would explain how the suspect was able to return to St Annes before his next confirmed sighting on 12 July 2026.
Alan appears to have finally caught a seagull.
Unfortunately, the seagull caught him back.

Alan appears to have recovered quickly from his unexpected aerial journey.
After seeking refuge among the books and teacakes at Fable, the suspect was transported safely to St Annes Library and released back into the wild.

Location: St Annes Library area
Suspect: Alan β The Seagull Chaser
Source: Unconfirmed staff reports

Internal Memo
Cat Crimes HQ has received several unconfirmed reports concerning suspicious activity near St Annes Library.
Witnesses described a slight black-and-white cat crouching beneath a nearby hedge while closely monitoring a group of seagulls.
The suspect was later seen charging from cover at considerable speed.
Alan did not appear to have planned for this possibility.
Investigator Notes
Although no badge sighting was reported, the description and behaviour are strongly consistent with Alan β The Seagull Chaser.
This activity occurred shortly after Alan was released at St Annes Library, making it highly likely that the suspect remained in the area.
Library staff have been advised that loud yowling, frantic paw movements and sudden outbreaks of seagull laughter should be reported directly to Cat Crimes HQ.
No successful captures were recorded.
