Suspect: Sheila – The Promenade Predator
Submitted By: Detective on a social break
Evidence Received
Cat Crimes HQ received a confirmed sighting of Sheila at Fable Book Café on 05 July 2026.
The reporting detective was not engaged in active surveillance at the time. They were enjoying a well-earned social break, relaxing with an ube drink and their crochet when the suspect unexpectedly came into view.
Sheila appeared comfortable in the peaceful café surroundings and showed no immediate concern that a trained Cat Crimes detective was seated nearby.
The suspect was observed behaving calmly and attempting to blend in with the café’s decorative surroundings. However, investigators remain suspicious of her interest in the nearby plants and believe she may have been assessing them for possible future excavation.
Detective’s Field Note

Badge BCIC-003 was successfully identified and the sighting has been entered into Sheila’s official Cat Crimes record.

Detective Report #005
Subject: Sheila – The Promenade Predator
Associated Group: The Diamond Circle
Related Incident: Sausage Van Heist
Suspected Accomplices: Officer Molly Claw and Tinkerbell
Suspected Role: Roadside decoy
Interview Outcome: Released without charge
Public Sighting: No
Sheila was brought in for questioning regarding the sausage van robbery believed to have been carried out by members of the Diamond Circle.
According to the delivery driver, a fluffy brown-and-white cat was lying in the centre of the road and forced the van to stop. The driver believed the animal may have been injured and left the vehicle to investigate.
Investigators suspect that the cat was Sheila and that the apparent emergency was a deliberate distraction. While the driver was occupied, Officer Molly Claw and Tinkerbell – The Lazy Assassin are believed to have entered the rear of the van and removed a quantity of premium smoked sausages.
When asked whether she had been lying in the road, the suspect stated that several fluffy brown-and-white cats lived within the local area and that investigators appeared to be making assumptions based entirely on her appearance.
Sheila also insisted that she would never choose to lie on a road because there were no flowers, loose soil or ornamental plants available.
The suspect became noticeably more interested when detectives mentioned that the stolen goods consisted of premium smoked sausages, but denied knowing where they had been taken.
Limited CCTV footage confirms that the delivery van stopped suddenly and that movement occurred near the rear doors. However, the footage does not provide a clear image of Sheila, Officer Molly Claw or Tinkerbell.
No confirmed capture exists showing Sheila lying in the road. Investigators cannot rule out the possibility that another cat was used as the decoy.
Detectives were unable to produce sufficient evidence proving that Sheila was the animal seen in the road.
She was released without charge pending further investigation. Surveillance of known Diamond Circle associates remains ongoing.
Her apparent familiarity with the type of sausages stolen has also been recorded, although this alone does not establish her involvement.
Detectives should continue reviewing footage from gardens, flower displays and roadside planting areas for evidence of the suspect’s movements before and after the robbery.

INTERNAL DETECTIVE REPORT
Detective Report #006
The Case of the Unexpected Pick-Me-Up
Date: 24 August 2026
Subject: Sheila — The Promenade Predator
Badge: BCIC002
Reporting Detective: Detective Dreamie
Location: Mabel's Café, St Anne's-on-Sea
Report Type: Confirmed Badge Sighting
Current Status: Whereabouts uncertain
Report Summary
Detective Dreamie had not planned on starting an investigation that day.
After receiving some news, they decided to pop into Mabel's Café — probably expecting nothing more suspicious than a brew and perhaps a slice of cake.
That was their first mistake.
Because lurking inside Mabel's was Sheila — The Promenade Predator.
Badge BCIC002 had been discovered.
Quite what Sheila was doing there remains unclear. Perhaps she was hiding from the authorities. Perhaps she was casing the café. Or perhaps she'd simply realised that a warm café was considerably nicer than prowling the promenade.
Unexpected Development
Whatever her criminal intentions, something unexpected happened.
Instead of causing chaos, Sheila made Detective Dreamie smile.
Detective Dreamie left the café feeling a little brighter than when they walked in.
Suspect Disposition
When asked what they intended to do with the captured criminal, Detective Dreamie replied:
Investigators therefore believe Sheila may currently be in protective custody, awaiting redeployment, recruiting a new accomplice, or already planning her escape.
Investigator's Note
Another criminal has been found. Another detective has joined the investigation.
And on a day when it was needed, a tiny badge did exactly what Cat Crimes was created to do.
It made somebody smile. 💜
Of course, nobody has told Sheila that.
As far as she's concerned, she's still a dangerous criminal and notorious Promenade Predator.
If she ever discovers she's been responsible for cheering somebody up, she'll be absolutely furious.

Detective Report #007
The Great Red Velvet Robbery
Date: 26 August 2026
Subject: Sheila — The Promenade Predator
Badge: BCIC002
Reporting Detective: Detective Williams
Location: Fable Book Café, St Annes
Report Type: Confirmed Criminal Sighting
Current Status: At large
Report Summary
There's something rather special about Fable Book Café in St Annes.
With its wonderful cakes, shelves of books and relaxed atmosphere, it's the sort of place where you'll find somebody reading, another knitting, and everyone enjoying a little peace and quiet.
Unfortunately, Sheila had other ideas.
On 26 August 2026, Detective Williams entered Fable and immediately spotted the notorious Promenade Predator sitting on a table, looking suspiciously innocent.
Sheila gave a leisurely swish of her magnificent tail.
Then she spotted the red velvet cake.
And that's when things turned criminal.
Without so much as a please or thank you, Sheila helped herself to an enormous bite.
The Sprite Cover-Up
Realising she'd been caught red-pawed, the fluffy felon attempted to make amends by presenting Detective Williams with a Sprite.
A heartfelt apology?
Cat Crimes HQ suspects attempted witness bribery.
Photographic Evidence
Fortunately, Detective Williams had the presence of mind to secure photographic evidence, which has now been added to the official case files.
Photographic evidence submitted by Detective Williams. Currently held securely at Cat Crimes HQ pending clearance for public release.
Investigator's Note
When the cakes at Fable are that good, investigators consider a fizzy drink entirely inadequate compensation.
Visitors to Fable are advised to guard their cakes. Particularly the red velvet.
