Archive File: 013
RESTRICTED FILE
Name: Mushu
Alias: The Archivist
Also Known As: Keeper of the Cat Crimes Archives
Status:
Status: Active
Last Confirmed Sighting: Entering the basement archives beneath Fable Book Café. No confirmed exit has ever been recorded.
Archive Note:
Many detectives refuse to reference File 013 by number, believing it has a habit of appearing whenever someone starts asking too many questions about the Archives.
Criminal Record:
Official Status:
No Criminal Convictions Recorded.
Despite appearing in hundreds of Cat Crimes investigations, Mushu has never been directly linked to the planning or execution of any known offence.
Investigators believe this is because he never commits crimes himself.
He simply records them.
Unofficial Allegations:
Withholding Evidence
Refuses to release archive records that could identify suspects, motives or stolen goods.
Conspiracy to Obstruct Investigations
Regularly provides carefully selected historical information to members of the Cat Crime Syndicate while refusing all requests from Cat Crimes officers.
Possession of Restricted Files
Has been known to preserve evidence that could solve investigations but insists that "history must remain complete."
Accessory After the Fact (Suspected)
Refuses to release archive records that could identify suspects, motives or stolen goods.
Reward:
Information Leading to the Recovery of Archive Records
Cat Crimes detectives are not seeking Mushu's arrest.
Instead, any information that results in the lawful recovery of missing archive records, historical documents or sealed case files will be considered of exceptional value.
Known Alias:
• The Archivist
• The Keeper of Archives
• The Librarian
• The Memory Keeper
• The Keeper of Secrets
• The Master Archivist
Investigator Notes:
• Mushu has never been witnessed committing a Cat Crime, yet his presence appears throughout countless investigations spanning many years.
• Every known criminal, Boss Cat and independent troublemaker is believed to have a file within the Archives under his care.
• Multiple Cat Crimes officers have attempted to obtain access to restricted records. Every request has been politely declined.
• Investigators believe Mushu possesses enough historical information to solve dozens of unsolved cases. Unfortunately, he operates under a strict personal code:"I record history. I do not rewrite it."
• Despite his close association with the Cat Crime Syndicate, there is currently no evidence that Mushu plans, encourages or participates in criminal activity.
• He simply remembers everything.
Recommendation: Continue surveillance. Any voluntary cooperation from Mushu should be considered exceptionally valuable.
Outstanding Warrants:
Although several detectives have recommended charges relating to obstruction of investigations and withholding archive records, no warrant has ever been approved.
Reason:
No evidence has been found proving Mushu has personally committed a criminal offence.
Current Status:
Considered a person of significant investigative interest.
Weaknesses:
• Cannot resist correcting inaccurate historical records.
• Refuses to destroy or alter archive entries, regardless of who requests it.
• Values knowledge above personal gain.
• Has a soft spot for old books and beautifully bound journals.
• Will occasionally exchange information for a suitable historical artefact or exceptionally rare story.
• He'll ignore a criminal for an hour if somebody's shelved a book in the wrong place.
Last Known Sightings:
• Seen quietly updating the Cat Crimes Archives late into the evening.
• Frequently spotted at a desk in Fable Café with a fresh coffee and an open archive ledger.
• Occasionally observed accepting sealed documents from unidentified visitors before filing them away.
• Rumoured to disappear into the restricted archive whenever detectives approach.
• Security cameras often capture an open archive book... but never the moment he arrives or leaves.
• Several detectives claim to have spoken with Mushu, although no conversations have ever been officially documented.
Evidence Photographs:
NO AUTHENTICATED IMAGE EXISTS
Despite decades of investigations, Cat Crimes detectives have never obtained a verified photograph of Mushu performing his duties inside the Archives.
Archive Legacy:
• Investigators believe Mushu is not the first Keeper of the Cat Crimes Archives.
• Historical evidence suggests the role has been passed from one trusted Archivist to the next for generations. Each Keeper inherits every case file, witness statement, criminal record and sealed record from their predecessor, preserving the complete history of the Cat Crimes world.
• Nothing is ever removed.
• Nothing is ever rewritten.
• Each Keeper records only the events of their own lifetime before entrusting the Archives to a worthy successor.
• The identity of the first Archivist remains unknown.
