Operation Sausage Heist

The Family Butchers on Lytham's Main Street make the finest smoked sausages this side of Preston.

Tonight, a fresh shipment is due to arrive.

Beneath Eat the Italian Way, Don Meowleone is preparing for a very special visitor: Mamma Meowleone.

He has planned a new pasta recipe with rich tomato sauce, aged Parmesan and smoked sausage. Lots of Parmesan.

Don opens the fridge.

Nothing.

Slowly, he turns to Niles.

“Niles... where are my sausages?”

“I may have eaten the last of them.”

“MAMMA MIA!”

Niles reminds Don about the sausage delivery—and the Kennel Syndicate's week-long plan to steal it.

Don originally refused to interfere. But Mamma arrives tomorrow, and his own delivery is still three days away.

Very slowly, Don smiles.

“Prepare the car.”

Cat Crimes Intelligence has now confirmed the unidentified crew:

The Diamond Circle.

The sausages were already gone before the van reached the Windmill.

Sheila staged the injured-cat incident in the road. While the cat-loving driver stopped to help her, Molly and Tinkerbell opened the van and loaded the sausage crates onto a small trolley.

By the time Don and Niles distracted the Kennel Syndicate with steaks, both rival crews were fighting over an empty van.

Nobody at the Windmill knew the Diamond Circle had already completed the real heist.

Message from The Archivist

Greetings, Detective.

Your report has been reviewed and accepted into the Cat Crimes Archives.

Three criminal operations converged on one shipment. Only one understood that the best robbery is the one completed before anybody else knows it has begun.

“I record history. I do not rewrite it.”
